Fri, June 9th

Well, when I (Jacob) got back from work, apparently the party had already started!

We just met up shortly for a beer, since they were understandably tired from the flight. But we made sure to share some tips about trying out the berries from the grocery store (strawberries are amazing here for some reason).

Sat, June 10th

Today started by touring the canals around the city! We went for a wine-and-cheese tour (highly recommended), which was just beautiful and relaxing.

Got some good walking around the city, and of course we found some delicious pizza at La Perla in the Jordaan neighborhood. It’s a beautiful place to walk around, and some of the best pizza we’ve found so far in Amsterdam.

Sun, June 11th

Met up with Kat’s parent’s for a picnic for lunch!

Had a pretty chill day.

Then of course we went out for dinner to the restaurant that is less than a block down the street from our apartment.

I biked all the way there, but of course it was hard to find parking nearby for the bike, so I ended up going nearly a block away to park. Phew!

Also we walked past the cat that lives in a rug store, while we were walking Kat’s parents back to their hotel, so had to capture this moment…

Mon, June 12th

Ok so Monday was explore-the-city downtown day (it was very bright today).

It was super nice to have Kat’s parents visit for a few days! After this, they did a little trip of their own in Belgium (aka slightly-less-awesome versions of Amsterdam, in my personal opinion).

Kat and I agreed that her parents came on basically the most beautiful week of the entire year, so they probably think it’s always sunny and warm here!
